It’s my honour to obtain the prize in Waterloo Chem13 Contest. From my perspective, since chemistry is my major, the contest is a chance to practice my knowledge and skills in chemistry. Unluckily, due to the pressure of university application, the lack of preparation before the contest might lead to mistakes in the details. Keep your critical thinking to reveal the essence, and then you are likely to have a great comprehension. If you are interested, reading papers and articles wisely is an opportunity to improve your ability of problem-solving.
In fact, I did not know much about the competition before doing this, so I did not know what to do. However, after the examination, I found that the preparation for this competition actually lies in daily accumulation, because most of the exam questions are the content learned in Chinese Chemistry course in the first semester in Grade 11, the knowledge learned in Canadian Chemistry course in this semester, and even some content from junior high school. I also found some places that I did not study well, so that I could make a targeted review before the final exam.
When I signed up for the Avogadro’s Contest from my teacher, first I strengthened the understanding to the key ideas in my textbook, then according to the arrangement of the school’s plan, I acquired some knowledges from the Chemistry contest in the general high school. Then, during the process that I prepared the examination, I got the chance to practice the ability of allocation of my time and multi-tasks management ability. I think, from this contest, I got not only the final result, but also the chance to challenge myself and my limitations.
